About Me

I’m Blake Harley, and this is—obviously—my website.

What’s a Blake Harley,” you ask? I’m a programmer and gamer, and sometimes I like to pretend that I can design websites.

While I mainly enjoy web development, I do dabble in other things as well. More notably, I’ll often find myself working on video games or random desktop applications. Video game development doesn’t usually get far due to a lack of art talent and/or art team, and desktop applications I make are usually for my benefit only. Recently I’ve been trying to get into mobile development, but I don’t have a Mac to run XCode or an Android to test applications on (yes, that means I have an iPhone).

When I’m not programming, I’m often playing computer games. While FPSes like Counter-Strike and Team Fortress have been my games of choice for a long time, I’ve found myself more interested in RPGs and MMOs lately. I’m not playing very many games at this point in time, but I am eagerly awaiting the release of Guild Wars 2. If you want to know more about my addiction, you should head over to the list.

Politics and current affairs are also topics I find interesting. I have a minor in Political Science (totally related to Computer Science—I swear), but I usually don’t advertise this interest as heavily. I only mention this to give background to any political tirades I may leave in my blog.

Oh, I like music too. Instead of trying to describe the annoyingly named genres I listen to, I placed my Zune Card at the top of this page. … Yes. I have a Zune, and I use the Zune software. I actually really like it.
